UNICEF Award for Ashmole
Over the past two years, our school community has worked to embed within our culture the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This has involved helping Ashmole pupils to understand their rights and how they can help these rights to be realised for children around the world.
Ashmole hosted a visit by a UNICEF team on Wednesday to judge the work that has been carried out to support our pupils’ understanding and to assess the impact of our work . The RRSA team, who were accompanied by a colleague from the Department for Education, spent the whole morning at Ashmole visiting classrooms and interviewing parents, pupils, staff and governors. The assessors were very complimentary about our school and I am delighted to inform you that Ashmole has been accredited with the Rights Respecting Schools Award. Well done to the whole school community for achieving this notable accolade.
In addition to recognising the school’s work to achieve the RRSA, the assessors noted that Ashmole pupils have exemplary learning behaviour, feel safe at school and are very supportive of each other.
